Sharing & Roles

How the shared timeline works

Every event for a child flows into one continuous feed — no home mode, no daycare mode. Everyone with access sees the same timeline.

Roles

Parent

Full access to the child timeline. Can invite other caregivers, manage child settings, and set event visibility.

Caregiver

Can view and log events on the child timeline. Cannot manage child settings or invite others.

Organization staff

Staff at a connected daycare or care org. Can view and log events for enrolled children during care hours.

Inviting caregivers

Open the child's settings and tap Invite caregiver. You can share the invite link via any messaging app. The invitee downloads Sprout, creates an account, and accepts the invite — they immediately see the full timeline.

Visibility controls

When logging an event, you can choose who sees it:

Everyone

All caregivers with access to the child timeline can see this event.

Parents only

Only users with the Parent role can see this event.

Organization only

Only staff at a connected care organization can see this event.

Organizations

Daycares and care organizations can create an organization in Sprout. Parents connect their child to the organization, giving staff access to the shared timeline. Staff log events during care hours — those events appear in the same feed parents use at home.
